The Outdoor Classroom

Developed in collaboration with schools

Nature provides an unstructured classroom in which children develop creatively, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially.

This program introduces children, teachoutsideers and early childhood educators to a way of being in the outdoors that can help stimulate childhood development as well as connect adults more deeply with the natural environment. The program involves collaborating with teachers to design and deliver an “outdoor classroom” session. Teachers feel confident practicing outdoor classroom activities in future and understand the underlying pedagogy.
